As part of their move to a new facility, ROBTV wanted to generate a completely new on-air display system for financial data. ROBTV asked Video Design Software to design and implement a complete system to receive and parse real time financial data and generate several new financial graphics displays on-air.

System Requirements

• A two band stock Ticker
• Bugs display for presentation of major market indices
• Full page Boards displays of tabular data
• Charts or line graphs providing stock performance over time
• The system had to be expandable to support graphics and production enhancements.
• The provider had work with ROBTV to create a new graphic look for all the displays.
• The software would drive graphics generators and interface with the selected data provider.

AirPlot In Action

The VDS HotBoards application used Chyron Lyric Software running on Duet for the creation of full screen displays of text and numeric data. The Boards software automatically updates the data within the template while on air, providing the 'hot' updates that ROBTV required. This approach also allowed ROBTV personnel the ability to modify the on-air look as required.
