This system features the following:
- Display of game schedules, scores and clocks.
- Display of game situation information, including overtime indicators for each game in progress.
- Display of league standings with team logos.
- Display of team stats/records.
- Display of game previews and summaries.
- Display of game scoring summaries.
- Display of game "notables."
- Display of news and promo information in a lower-third format, with live operator input.
- Display of sponsor logos.
- Support for localized channel numbers at head-end locations, using Internet VPN connection to main system hub at VDS for data retrieval.
"We are very happy that the NHL has chosen VDS to provide the infrastructure for their scores and stats channels for NHL fans", said Larry Mincer, President, VDS. "This is a reconfirmation of the expertise that VDS has in the business of sports broadcasting data channels."
