VIDEO DESIGN SOFTWARE & CONVERGE HORIZONS LAUNCH DIGISNAP, THE NEXT GENERATION OF NETWORKED LOGO INSERTERS
LAS VEGAS, Apr. 8, 2002—Video Design Software (VDS) and Converge Horizons will be introducing the DigiSnap, the first in the next generation of networked logo inserters, in the Video Design Software Advanced Technology Suite, located in meeting room Casanova 605 at the Venetian, located in close proximity to the NAB 2002 lower exhibitions area at the Sands Convention Center. DigiSnap is a 1RU digital-logo generator/inserter that enables broadcast facilities to easily transfer, control and playback static or animated logos into a video signal upstream or downstream from Master Control over a local or wide area network.
DigiSnap provides settings for x/y, logo positioning and predefined transitions, as well as synchronization of sound files associated with each logo. All of these settings can be grouped into “Events” for manual or automated playback. “Events” can be triggered via Chyron’s standard Intelligent Interface protocol, via GPI or via the DigiSnap proprietary serial protocol.
“In talking to many customers, it became clear that when it comes to addressing logo insertion for station or program-IDs, sponsor-IDs, live logos or even promos and bumpers, broadcast facilities revert to either expensive video-clip players or depend on outdated technologies that require cumbersome processes to get a logo on-air,” says Steve Papadakis, Director of Sales at VDS. “With DigiSnap, we are addressing an commonly forgotten, yet very important need in a simple and inexpensive way.”

VDS will be showcasing DigiSnap, along with the Headshot Xpress, another product developed by Converge Horizons, in the Production Playout and Master Control sections of the Advanced Technology Suite.
