| HotBoards provides template-driven display of live data values using a variety of graphics generators.
It can display data drawn from financial, sports, and weather data feeds, as well as custom data sources.

Data fields are mapped to regions in pre-defined graphics templates. These pages can then be built into
stacks and stored/recalled at any time. Once a board is brought to air, its data values are continuously updated
live on air, ensuring that the most recent data is always displayed.

HotBoards provides total flexibility, since the template-driven approach separates graphic design from
the data content. That means you build the template once, instead of every day. And the user has total
control of the format that textual data will be displayed. HotBoards does the rest.
"And here is how the major indices are performing right now..."
The HotBoards system allows the operator to create stacks of Boards that will play out in order, or create Boards
on the fly and display them on air directly. Stacks can be created well in advance of a particular show,
stored in the HotBoards database for later use, and recalled when needed. Modifying stacks is very simple,
so an operator can quickly make last-second changes in the stack order, even while another board is on air.
Need to see stock X right now? Type the symbol, click GO. Done.
Various types of Boards can be defined within the system, including Fixed Boards which require no
user data input (e.g. major market indices) and User-Defined Boards, where the
graphic is generated on-the-fly with live data (e.g. single stock
equity boards with the ticker symbol specified at the time of stack creation).
For simplified integration into the broadcast environment, stacks of Boards can be played out to air
using manual triggering (via mouse or touchscreen), or via GPI triggers/tallies from a production switcher.
HotBoards is often one component of a larger graphics package incorporating AirPlot and HotBugs.
