| VDS has teamed up with market leaders ENPS, Microsoft and Chyron to create
a MOS server and suite of ActiveX plugins for the Associated Press' ENPS news system. Two of
these plugins, ITV-MOS and Chyron-MOS, were shown at the National Association of Broadcasters
convention in Las Vegas April 10-13, 2000 in the Microsoft and Chyron booths.

About MOS |
MOS is an evolving protocol for communications between Newsroom Computer Systems (such as the Associated
Press' ENPS and Avid's Avstar) and Media Object Servers (MOS) such as Video Servers, Audio Servers,
Still Stores and Character Generators. This protocol is supported and developed through cooperative
collaboration among equipment vendors, software vendors and end users.

The MOS Server |
At the heart of the Video Design Software MOS Suite is our MOS Server:
 The MOS Server Application |
The MOS Server is the content server and asset management system for each of the licensed asset
types. Currently, our MOS Server supports ITV assets (that is, insertion of Transport-A interactive
television triggers using Norpak encoders) and graphics such as lower thirds on Chyron iNFiNiT!
and Duet graphics systems.
The MOS Server runs on a dedicated Windows NT Server that is connected to the various hardware
required to trigger each asset type.

NCS ActiveX Control |
Journalists working within the ENPS Client bring up the VDI ActiveX control for managing MOS assets
in the lower-right pane of the desktop. From there, assets such as lower thirds and ITV triggers
can be added, edited, cloned and deleted from the VDI MOS server. Once an asset has been created,
it can be dragged directly into a story and made part of a rundown where it can be triggered manually
or automatically:

ITV-MOS and ATVEF Playout |
Currently in development, the ITV-MOS system was shown at the ENPS area of the Microsoft booth at
NAB 2000. ITV-MOS allows journalists and other ENPS users to create enhanced television content for
Microsoft TV and drag the content into a script for playout to air using ATVEF-standard triggers
under control of a MOS server. Content creation occurs within the ENPS client: workflow and working
environment remain unchanged. Below is the screen for editing ATVEF assets on the ENPS desktop:

Chyron-MOS |
Currently in development, the Chyron-MOS system was shown at the Chyron booth at NAB 2000. Chyron-MOS
allows journalists and other ENPS users to create graphics content such as lower-thirds and drag the
content into a script for playout to air on a Chyron iNFiNiT!-Family CG under serial or ethernet
control of our MOS server. Content creation occurs within the ENPS client: workflow and working
environment remain unchanged. Below is the screen for editing iNFiNiT! assets on the ENPS desktop:

Duet-MOS |
Duet-MOS allows journalists and other ENPS users to create graphics content such as lower-thirds and
drag the content into a script for playout to air on a Chyron Duet CG under ethernet control of our
MOS server. Content creation occurs within the ENPS client: workflow and working environment remain
unchanged. Below is the screen for editing Duet assets on the ENPS desktop:
