Many installations include our SmutFilter module to help production personnel filter out swear words. SmutFilter features a large default dictionary, from which thousands of words can be matched using grammatical rules.

- A customizable dictionary of hundreds of objectionable words and phrases. Users can choose to have individual dictionary entries match against entire words or against any part of a word.
- The dictionary can be divided into categories, which can be activated or deactivated depending on the user's needs. This is useful if you need to filter out ethnic slurs, but not certain medical terms or children's words.
- The matching engine features an extensible grammar for matching wordforms. The grammar is easily adopted to languages other than English. The standard grammar allows a single word to match many word forms For example, "dog" will match "dog", "dogs", "dogging", "dogged", etc. automatically, without having to enter each wordform.
- The system features wildcard matching, e.g. "dog*house" would match "doghouse", "dog house", "dog@$%*&house", etc.
